FotoFocus Insighters is a FREE student program designed to promote engagement in photography and lens-based art on campus and in the community.

Students from all concentrations are invited to sign up for the FotoFocus Insighters program and participate in photography-centered events. Insighters will receive exclusive invitations throughout the year, and will have opportunities to meet artists, curators, and directors from local galleries and organizations.

For the first Insighters event of 2026, FotoFocus is partnering with The Woodward Theater to present the film Steve Shapiro: Being Everywhere. Steve Shapiro captured iconic photos during his 6-decade career, with many celebrated subjects, including Martin Luther King, Jr., Muhammad Ali, Robert F. Kennedy, Andy Warhol, David Bowie, Marlon Brando, and Barbra Streisand. You can read the film synopsis and more details on the career of Steve Shapiro here.

Insighters and student guests can attend for free by RSVPing by February 16. All students should arrive at 6:30pm for first access to the complimentary dinner buffet. Public entry begins at 7pm, and tickets are for sale here.
