During this event, artists will discuss their research and the importance of self-portraiture to their practice. Emily Wiethorn, curator and Assistant Professor of Creative Studies, will facilitate the discussion. Immediately following the panel discussion, the gallery reception will take place across campus. Voyageur Media Group is holding a public screening of the one-hour documentary “Capturing Life” (1839-1869) from 5–7pm on Thursday, October 17 in the George and Ellen Rieveschl Digitorium, Griffin Hall, Northern Kentucky University. A panel discussion follows under the theme “Photography and Education."

Artist Daniel McInnis will give a talk from 1–2pm on the exhibition, Elementary. A reception will be held from 2–3pm, followed by a panel discussion including elementary teachers and administrators.
