FotoFocus offers a range of opportunities for artists, venues, and enthusiasts to participate in FotoFocus programming throughout the year. Information on how to participate in FotoFocus Biennials, as well as any opportunities for artist open calls, Insighters, and volunteers, posted below.
2026 FotoFocus Biennial
FotoFocus is excited to announce Venue Applications are now available for the 2026 FotoFocus Biennial. Proposed projects must have a confirmed venue during October 2026.
Venues are considered for inclusion in the FotoFocus Biennial based on several factors, including: strength of the 2026 Biennial Venue Application, quality of the proposed exhibition, alignment with the FotoFocus mission and Biennial theme, feasibility of executing the exhibition as proposed, and review of previously accepted Biennial exhibitions, if applicable.
Projects must include photography, film, or lens-based art for consideration. Venues must be located within Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, or Northern Kentucky to be eligible.

Open Calls
Active open calls are included in the community news section of the monthly FotoFocus newsletter. To join our mailing list, click here. Open call exhibitions for the 2026 Biennial will be announced in Summer 2026.
Insighters
The FotoFocus Insighters program is dedicated to providing opportunities for students to experience photography and lens-based art on campus and in the community throughout the school year. Students of all concentrations with an interest in photography are encouraged to register for this free program. Email ninap@fotofocus.org to learn more about how to become an Insighter.
Volunteer
Future opportunities to volunteer with the FotoFocus organization will be posted here once announced.
2028 FotoFocus Biennial
Applications will be available for the 2028 FotoFocus Biennial in the Summer of 2027. If you are an institution, photographer, or lens-based artist who has access to an exhibition space in the Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, and Northern Kentucky area that is interested in participating in the 2028 FotoFocus Biennial, please complete this form.
