Unfolding Stories 2026: Stories from the RCCAM Collection
Unfolding Stories traces the rich history of the Richard and Carole Cocks Art Museum’s (RCCAM) collection through the perspective of visual artists, art historians, dancers, and architects. From art historical research to experimental animation/video and mixed media installation, this expansive exhibition encompasses a wide array of studies, interpretations, and expressions by more than 60 artists, scholars, and students associated with Miami University.
Established in 1978, the RCCAM at Miami University hosts over 17,500 artworks in its permanent collection. The collaborators of Unfolding Stories engage in an in-depth exploration of the collection from pre-Columbian artifacts to contemporary art, including works by Eadweard Muybridge, Berenice Abbott, Steve Schapiro, Felice Beato, H. A. Sigg, William Douglas McGee, Philip Morsberger, Kara Walker, Judith Brown, Sam Gilliam, and Nancy Holt. The culmination of this multifaceted creative research is showcased through projection mapping events, a multimedia exhibition, and artist talks.
