2026 Biennial
This Land, Here We Dwell
This Land, Here We Dwell focuses on contemporary photographers in the United States who engage with time and land as both subject and material. The featured artists incorporate meditations on the land and environment as part of their practice, encompassing historical ecologies, current climates, and imagined futures. Within their studies of the land, each artist also embraces time as a critical element of photographic language and integrates time as material, subject, and methodology. Artists employ long exposures and moving images, research-based practices, and ephemeral materials during repeated visits with their subjects. Based throughout the United States, these photographers unveil rich knowledge of the different ecosystems within the country and how these environments inform our daily lives.
