2026 Biennial
Reflections Through Time
Reflections Through Time is the resultant exhibition of the Evendale Cultural Arts Center’s 2026 juried photography call. Mounted on large-scale, weatherproof panels along the fence surrounding the Village of Evendale’s public pool, this exhibition transforms a familiar recreational space into an accessible, immersive open-air gallery.
Reflections Through Time highlights how photographers consider the medium’s power to connect past, present, and future, creating images that address history and memory, time and duration, distance and perspective. Whether personal or collective, abstract or documentary, selected works share a common thread: engaging with change and how we understand it.
This year’s exhibition holds particular resonance as the Village of Evendale celebrates its 75th anniversary and the nation marks its 250th. Together, these milestones offer a timely invitation to reflect on local and collective history through a photographic lens.
Born out of necessity in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this outdoor exhibition has evolved into a beloved community tradition. Viewers encounter the work during walks, family outings, and community events, experiencing the images in changing natural light, across multiple visits, and over several weeks. The large-scale format amplifies the intimacy of each photographer’s vision, sparking conversation, contemplation, and connection across generations.
